While there are some good points you made here, I still think that there are a few things debatable -
1. Skip trace - easy to say than done - if you are opening account somewhere, buying a house, a car etc, collections people WILL find you if they try hard enough, even if you go back to China. If you owe 300k, you bet they will try very hard.
2. As I mentioned previously, bankruptcy stay on your credit report for 7 years. Now you might be able to get secured credit cards where a deposit is required, otherwise, don't think other banks want to work with you. Buying a house after 3 years? I highly doubt it. Especially if you defaulted on a large amount.
3. Its true that AT&T will not be held responsible if you use the money to buy their stocks. But collections Agency will attempt to freeze the brokerage account and sell the stocks to pay back debt. In our case, it might mean auctioning off the business assets.
