we all talk about school smart and street smart.
i have been spent some time back and forth between china and here in past decade. however, i spent more time at beijing and you know it is all different depends on which part of china you are at.
in general i think beijing is better. specially about your sofa experience, i thought you shuld have log your deal down on a contract with price all spelled, then if they tell you no after that fact, all you have to tell them is that you will talk to the market administration where they shop is at, then their choice is either to pay for a fine to those guys, or to honor their deal documented in your contract.
so sounds like you need tolearn the skills and the rules in "contemporary chinese urban life"
