Chief Analog IC Architect (Director Level)
Location: Shanghai, China
A US semiconductor solutions provider is looking for a chief analog IC architect (director level) for its R&D center in Shanghai, China. The successful candidate will lead the design of audio & power management ICs for portable consumer electronics applications. The position reports to the GM of the R&D center.
Responsibilities:
1.Work with marketing to define the functional and performance requirements
2.Analyze high level use cases and break them into technical data flow, system partitions and architecture
3.Analyze performance trade-offs and issues to identify the optimum solutions in terms of functionality and performance
4.Develop architecture specifications and application notes
5.Lead engineering teams for technology selections, implementations, system level verifications and production testing
6.Study industry and technology trends, and propose new concepts for company’s next generation IC products
Qualifications:
1.PhD in EE, 8+ years of experience in doing analog/mixed signal IC design or IC systems design, with a minimum of 5+ years of IC systems architecture and product definition experience with an emphasis on portable power management systems design and architecture
2.Must have a solid understanding of power management IC's, and their applications in handheld and portable devices
3.Strong experience in the following circuits and technologies: LDOs, buck boosters, back lighting technologies, DC/DC converters, battery chargers, class D amplifiers, MCU, etc
4.Good experience in power management and design techniques for power efficiency
5.Demonstrated skills in managing both engineering teams and projects
6.Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Desirable:
1.Experience in portable audio codec IC design and architecture
2.Good knowledge of low-power, mobile/handheld consumer electronic devices (mobile handsets, GPS, MP3,etc)
3.Experience in peripheral interfaces: USB, touch screen, camera, SIM, etc.
4.Fluent in Chinese
