Job Description
Job Title: Operations Director, [client name]Global Technology Services Centre, Shanghai (UGSC)
Role Summary: Responsible for the effective management and full range of activities of the Centre across business units and functions to ensure its smooth operations in China.
Reporting Relationship: Reporting to the Vice President, [client name]Global Sourcing
Job Responsibilities:
- Takes the full P&L responsibility of the Centre and seeks for continuous improvement on operation efficiency
- Provides forecasting and planning on an enterprise wide basis to ensure that the Business Unit forecasts, plans and strategies are consistent with global sourcing strategic initiatives
- Provides business modeling, business planning, investment analysis and demand planning to the appropriate [client name]organizations
- Provides support to senior management on special projects and analyses regarding global sourcing
- Provides coach and guidance to the management team on their day-to-day operations and for leadership development
- Focuses on wide-range and cross-functional application knowledge
- Sets and directs action plans based on good understanding on functional concepts and drives for results.
Education: Degree in the relevant disciplines; a combination qualifications of Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Information Management System and Business Management/Administration is preferred
Professional Qualification: Certificates in Project Management, quality framework (e.g. ISO, SEI, CMM, CMMI, etc.) would be an advantage
Experience: At least 10 years relevant experience of which 7 years are at line management positions and 3 years at strategic level with large multi-national information technology companies; must well-versed in one or more areas of the IT outsourcing business e.g. call center, offshore software development, business process outsourcing, etc.
Knowledge, Skills and Other Pre-requisites:
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese with excellent presentation skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership and negotiation skills
- Knowledge in Business planning, analysis and process management
