Location: Shanghai or Beijing
Job Summary
Senior technical staff is required to have broad and in depth knowledge of X86 architecture including both hardware and software, strong debugging skills at system level, hands on troubleshooting experience from PCB board circuit and BIOS, to OS kernel, driver, and applications. This position is expected to investigate the most challenging bugs, find the root cause, and guide engineering team to provide the solutions.
Job Description
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
-Reviewing hardware designs and software release.
-Supports proudct team leads in the US.
-Supports global field and customer engineers.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
* X86 architecture
* Circuit fundamentals, signal/noise principles
* Broad understanding of hardware, BIOS, driver, and OS.
* Independent, thorough, responsible, and technically competent.
* Strong trouble shooting skill at system level
* C, Solaris, Windows, Linux, Kernel
* Has good communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
* Works well with others.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE:
-Understanding of x86 architecture, BIOS, booting, operating systems (Linux, Windows, Solaris), drivers, disks, networking, PCI-X/E, USB, "how x86s work".
-Detailed knowledge of the AMD Opteron and associated chipsets.
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
7+ years
MINIMUM LEVEL OF EDUCATION:
Bachelor, Electrical Engineering/Computer Science related
