targets and competences of the function Contributes to the achievement of the objectives of the company, by participating in and developing the strategic planning and day to day management in terms of import and export and customs relationship.
Develops and implements customs/ import and export strategies in order to achieve the company targets (both short and long term).
Develops staff skills and to ensure training and improvement plans are in place to meet staff expectations and to ensure that there is achievement of objectives and staff co-operation with other departments within the company.
Directs and controls Customs Relationship and Import Export strategy.
Advises suppliers/services agencies in managerial and corporate matters.
personnel responsibility
Manage overall Customs/Import Export department which incorporates the key areas of:
o Customs relationship
o Sea Freight/Air Freight operations for parts, CKD, equipments and tooling
o Tariff Classification operations
Work as interface between internal departments (e.g. Logistics, Production and finance department) and customs in terms of Import Export business.
Develop and implement Customs and I/E strategy to achieve the target in this area.
Provide consistent and systematic input on I/E business to the top management.
Negotiate with external agencies and monitor their performance in a systemic way and provide advises/feedback to the top management.
Develop and manage the whole Import Export budget.
Bachelor degree or above
studies/specialisation/education Knowledge on Import Export related law & regulation, tax and finance.
Needs to have thorough understanding of:
o management principles
o Import/Export business practices
o legal and social awareness
special knowledge Fluent Chinese and English
additional knowledge (languages ...) Extensive experience at least 8 years in the areas of Import and Export, Customs business,
3 years and above experiences on management position.
Professional experience (e.g. supplier, advertising agency.) Automotive industry practices are preferred.
knowledge of industrial sector Excellent Communicator with ability to develop positive working relationships quickly
