The Head of the Asia Pacific Financial Services Line of Business will manage the 10 to 12 Managing Directors/ Partners in place in Asia Pacific, and over 200 staff members dedicated to Financial Services Practices. His/her prime technical focus will be centered around risk management (i.e. credit risk reporting processes, risk rating system design and implementation, portfolio analysis, capital allocation strategies, measurement of credit/operational/market risks, BASEL II Capital Accord and AML (fraud risk management).
The ideal candidate should possess a strong competency in the risk management space, as well as the orientation toward building differential solution sets most applicable to the Asian marketplace.
He/she should be extremely comfortable in dealing with clients that have western roots. At the same time, he/she should be able to demonstrate excellent connectivity to the North Asia market, particularly Greater China (including Mandarin linguistic capabilities).
He/she should be extremely client focused, exhibit strong and previous business building competencies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will work closely with the Managing Directors, consultants and professional staff in the Region and globally.
On a day-to-day basis, the successful candidate will:
Develop further the Asia Pacific Financial Services Line of Business.
Manage teams undertaking challenging strategic consulting projects for the Region's most important clients.
Actively participate in other leadership responsibilities such as recruiting, coaching and mentoring and office management.
Build reputation as expert on risk management within the firm and a superb consultancy practice in the marketplace.
Manage the growth and evolution of the Asia Pacific Financial Services Line of Business's knowledge management system.
Provide consulting/research assistance to the practice and client teams, developing insight into markets, trends, and developments in risk management.
Participate in specific consulting/research projects in support of client service teams.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
Fluent Mandarin and English

The person must have the presence, maturity and interpersonal skills to fully represent the firm in all areas of client contacts and with the ability to enhance such relationships over a period of time. He/She must be effective in dealing with C-Level clients and industry contacts.
He/She must demonstrate success in cross-cultural situations. Strong leadership qualities and the ability to motivate people and develop their talent are essential.
He/She should possess a great deal of professionalism and have the highest standards of integrity. The successful candidate will have a track record of directly applicable experience in managing a comparable staff practice in the Region.
