Job description
This position will define the requirements for Electronic Support, which will deliver efficiency in service delivery from a customer experience and from a cost perspective, across the entire portfolio of products, and all levels of support (L1 through L3).
*This position will identify global requirements for Electronic Support across all products and geographies, which will optimize service delivery for L1 through L3 and provide IBM with a competitive advantage;
*This position will need to evaluate Server products, both hardware and software, and intersect product development plans to integrate new requirements as needed;
*The desired result would be to allow quicker customer problem resolution for our most complex problems that are solved by our L3 teams through efficiency and escalation quality;
*Once global requirements are understood and documented, this position will work with the CIO team to integrate into the architecture for transition into development;
*It is important that the requirements drive service delivery efficiency from the client’s perspective, service delivery centers in all geographies and financial perspectives;
*This position will also oversee the implementation of the changes to Electronic Support and changes to the service delivery strategy including development implementation, modification of the service delivery architecture and training development;
*This position will evaluate the possible use of innovative Social Networking in our Electronic Support Strategy as a method to improve our customer experience and efficiency;
*This will entail extensive research on how IBM should implement Social Networking to support our Maintenance and Technical Support business;
*There will be extensive customer engagement to understand how we can use Social Networking technologies to improve service delivery and provide IBM with a competitive advantage;
*Strategic decision on tools selection and or development and implementation will be lead by this position along with other key members of the Maintenance and Technical Support community.
Required
*The successful candidate must have the ability to comprehend a broad and complex business model for service delivery in order to design for the desired results;
*Strong communication and negotiation skills along with the ability to work with global teams effectively are a required. Innovative thinking along with all the IBM core competencies will be required;
*The ESA position requires someone who is familiar with all the brands HW and SW architecture;
*They must be a self starter and able to work on their own with no supervision..

Job Description
Provide overall leadership in leading the design and architecture of Linux features (i.e. Kernel, KVM, storage, network etc…) on Power and x86 platform.
This candidate requires in-depth experience in design and architecture skill, has good knowledge of open source processes and tooling, Linux, Cloud, virtualization and good communication skills. He/she needs to lead and grow/develop team’s in-depth technical skills to smoothly and successfully working with open source community.
Collaboration with local and US teams, support of local customers and S&D team in China are key and critical successful factors to become an effective technical leader in this role.
Required Skills
- Deep technical skills and knowledge in Linux, Cloud and virtualization technology.
- Broad technical scope in Linux kernel, storage management, Cloud and virtualization technology.
- Knowledge of how to work with and integrate features and defect solutions with IBM Linux Distribution Partners (Red Hat, Novell, etc.).
- Assist and guide management and emerging technical leaders in driving thought leadership, technology vision and direction for entire team.
- Provide technical expertise support in our every day operational responsibilities and product commitments.
- Lead and educate team in product roadmaps, Fall Plan and portfolio strategies.
- Help management retain, nurture and develop our technical talent by providing contribution feedback, career guidance and support.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills in English and in Chinese.
- Creative problem solving, flexibility, and adaptability.
- An open source community maintainer is a plus.
- Good business sense and global view.
- Strong leadership and drive to achieve, experience in collaborating with different business units.- Master degree in Computer Science and Electronic Engineering or equivalent, or above.
Local experience: ( 10 ) years at least
