************* Senior QE Engineer - Fusion *************
, a pioneer in virtualization software for industry-standard computers, is seeking QE engineers with a proven track record for delivering high quality software products. VMware Fusion is amazing virtualization software that VMware developed specifically for Apple Mac OS platform. It is a perfect solution to run Linux and Windows on Apple simultaneously without shutting down. As a member of Fusion QE team, you will work closely with developers to help ship products with very high quality, with rich features and focusing on customer usage and needs, which includes test designing, implementation, execution, debugging, testing automation and inputs to feature design.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and influence quality assurance across all VMware engineering groups, from inception through release.
- Work closely with Development and Product Management to ensure timely and quality product releases.
- Lead team to accomplish project on time.
- Develop and maintain test documentations including test plan, test strategy and test case.
- Design, develop and execute manual and automated tests and file bug reports.
- Troubleshoot, triage and debug Fusion product issues on Mac OS platform.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other QE team behalf of Fusion QE team.
- Mentor other QE engineers.
- Participate in initiatives to support continuous improvement of process, quality metrics, communication, tool development, etc.
Job Requirements
- BS or MS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
- 6+ Years of experience as a software QE engineer MNC working experience
- 3+ Years of project/team leading experience.
- Advanced knowledge and experience on Apple OSX or Linux platform.
- Excellent automation development experience, especially in Python, Java, Perl.
- Prior experience with VMware virtualization products is highly desired.
- Ability to work independently and lead team members to deliver products in a timely manner
- Strong self-starter with a successful track record
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Be able to prioritize, track and complete multiple outstanding tasks.
- Excellent English communication and organizational skills.
- Good understanding of QA concepts and Software Engineering process.
************* QE Engineer - View Desktop *************
Windows desktops have been a mainstay of the enterprise for 25 years now, but a fundamental shift is underway affecting the way enterprise customers access desktops, applications, and data. This shift is driven by two large-scale trends: cloud computing, and the emergence of personal Internet-connected devices to replace PCs. Desktops, apps, and data should be accessible from any device, anywhere, transparently. Virtual desktop Infrastructure (VDI) is a key enabler on the desktop. VDI is a technology that centralizes desktops in the datacenter and makes them available remotely from multiple endpoint devices. VMware’s VDI product is called VMware View, now at version 5.1.
The Server Hosted Desktop group is charged with delivering remote desktops from the datacenter to any endpoint you can think of. Our charter is to deliver the best possible remote desktop experience from any device at any time.
Key themes for us at the moment are client proliferation and improving and expanding the remote desktop experience.
The team is looking for a QE Engineer with a proven track record for delivering high quality software products. As one of our distinguished QE engineer, you will play a key role in test design and development, test framework and test case automation development and test execution. You will work closely with developers, product managers to help ship products of very high quality. In addition, manage activities to meet delivery dates, report accurate, complete status and also mentor/guide junior engineers in the team.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Create and review test plans, test cases, and test specifications ba<x>sed on marketing and engineering requirements
- Design, develop and execute manual and automated tests and file bug reports
- Work closely with developers to resolve issues and reproduce bugs
- Setup test environments and validate fixes provided for defects
- Own and work pro-actively towards automation coverage improvement and test cycle reduction
- Take initiative to improve products, tools, work efficiency and process
- Manage activities to meet the delivery dates and report accurate, complete status
- Partner with all stakeholders in QE ecosystem to deliver high quality products: Development teams, Cross QE teams, Product Mangers, Global support organization etc.
Requirements:
- BS/MS in computer science or equivalent with 3+ years experiences as a Software QA Engineer
- Strong knowledge of QA processes and methods
- Proficient in programming and s<x>cripting languages. Familiar with one of the following languages: C, C++, Java.
- Energetic, self-motivated, dedicated and excellent team pla<x>yer with very good English communication skills both verbal and written
- Excellent analytical, trouble shooting and problem solving skills with attention to detail
- Must be able to prioritize and handle multiple outstanding tasks
- Experience with software testing in Linux/UNIX, Windows environments
- Experience with remote display protocols (RDP, PCoIP, ICA etc), highly interactive 2D/3D graphics, or remote device integration , would be a plus
- Familiarity with hardware architectures, preferably x86 and ARM, would be a plus
- Experience with Directory services (LDAP, MS Active Directory) and Terminal services, would be a plus
