Patent Services Project Analyst

Description
Main Purpose of Role:


The Patents Services Project Analyst plays an integral part in the global Patent Analytics Group and also is a liaison with other services groups in the Patents Services Business, including Services such as Patent Search or Technical (Patent or other) Translation, Legal Process Outsourcing (LPO) services provided through our India hub, or other Thomson Reuters Global services teams as required . The role holder will be responsible for progressing sales leads for analytical services, project scoping, project production coordination and project delivery to customers, and will also deliver project results and provide local support for other service solutions across the IP services area (https://ip.thomsonreuters.com/).


This new role is responsible for supporting pre-sales activities, performing customer proposal drafting in liaison with the Account Managers and Services Sales Specialists. Excellent communication skills are required to allow the Analyst to present proposals effectively to customers in Korea in order to close services sales and manage customer expectations. The Analyst will also coordinate production of the analytical project deliverables and provide polished and technically insightful delivery to customers, assuring them the best value from IP Solutions (IPS) services resources in the agreed timeframe.


Duties and responsibilities:


Acts as a subject matter expert on Patent Analytics Services projects under his/her responsibility
Works with the customer to create project plans, and with the production team to manage project plans under his/her responsibility,
Ensures with his/her management that production resources are available and allocated to the completion of the customer project within a specific timeframe
Develops pricing for the designed project and when applicable, for large/strategic accounts works with Services Solution Consultant to communicate estimate to customer.
Liaises with global production operations to deliver against project plans, and communicates with customer on project progress.
Ensures that service levels are maintained or provided at a level necessary for customer satisfaction to be maintained at an optimal level.
Contributes to the development of new sales revenues and client retention by helping to identify potential sales and retention opportunities, participate in pre-sales calls, deliver customized presentations, develop written proposals and thought-leadership opportunities
Works with Account Managers on best practices for selling Services and trains them on new projects, including participating in sales calls (when appropriate)
As necessary, attends sales meetings, trade shows and divisional meetings as required

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:


Technical degree in a scientific field to ensure strong analytic skills and credibility with customers
Prior intellectual property industry and/or legal process outsourcing knowledge required; familiarity with the patents and trademark lifecycle and business issues related to IP
In-depth knowledge of IP Solutions Services and/or similar market solutions offerings and production process flow
Demonstrated track record of successful project management or coordination
Established career within IP analysis or IP projects delivery experience a strong preference
Proven ability to work well in a matrix environment, collaborate across multiple departments and influence all levels within an organization; willingness to collaborate and bring in appropriate resources to close sales
Readily assimilates new information and is able to apply this knowledge within a customer organization
Ability to consult with and advise customers in order to identify their needs and apply knowledge to understand customer workflows and what is important to their business; including best practice sharing
Must have strong presentation, communication, negotiation, interpersonal and time management skills


Qualifications and languages:


· University degree within the Sciences, with Electronics or Computer Science a strong preference

· Fluency in Korean and English
