Design and Launch support engineer
Location: TBD in China
The Apple iPod/iPhone/iPad Accessories Hardware Engineering Team is looking for an enthusiastic engineer. As individual contributor based in China, you will help to make the bridge between the design engineers in USA and contract manufacturer engineers in China
The ideal candidate is someone from a consumer electronics background who has designed high volume, low power, high quality products. Experience in Engineering Verification Testing, Manufacturing testing, interaction with contract manufacturers and suppliers in China is mandatory.
Your role will consist of:
In USA
Work hand in hand with the design engineers in Cupertino for prototype bring-up and debugging
Functional verification and Signal characterization
Participate in test equipment specification
In China
Provide support on the contract manufacturer site for testing and manufacturing related topics
Drive contract manufacturer engineers for high quality implementation of the design engineer’s requirements
Support to production lines and failure analysis.
Required Profile:
Fluent Chinese and English speaking
BS EE or equivalent
5+ years overall experience needed
Must have good EE fundamentals
Must have hands-on experience in prototype bring-up and debugging, functional verification and manufacturing support
Experience in designing and manufacturing high volume products
Used to deal with suppliers and contract manufacturers in China
Experience in the following areas is important: various communication protocols (especially USB, SPI, I2C and UART), DC/DC converters, analog design
Programming/scripting skills for controlling instruments and test automation
Position will require some international travel and multiple local travel in China
