Job Title: Process Development Engineer
Location: Shenzhen, China
The Process Development Engineer is responsible for development, qualification and validation of final assembly and test processes to support products in Mass Production. You will participate as part of the Production Operations team, Focused on accomplishing product objectives, you will collaborate in identifying appropriate tooling & test fixtures, trouble shooting material and process issues, and qualifying processes and tooling to assure successful introduction of new products into production.
Responsibilities:
- Participation in design & planning through DFM, as well as Process Yield, Capacity and Cost Modeling
- Review and Approval of Tooling Designs & Qualification
- Direction and Oversight of Process Qualification, Appro val and Documentation
- Quality improvements
- Process and yield improvements
Required Experience:
- BS or MS Preferred, or 7+ years experience in Tooling or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Experience in the following fields:
1. Plastic Molding, including knowledge of IMD, Transfer Molding, Double Shot and Insert Molding
2. metal Forming, including knowledge of Forming, Casting, Forging and CNC techniques
3. High Quality Finishing, including knowledge of polishing, plating, painting, coating and metallization
4. Production Process Qualification, Measurement and Analysis
5. Experience in High Volume Production (1M + annual production)
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Working knowledge of data analysis and statistics.
- Enthusiasm for getting “hands on” with product and production equipment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including effective presentation of complex data.
- Demonstrated ability to start projects and drive to completion and achieve “actionable” results.
- Experience working with overseas partners.
- Familiarity with CAD systems.
