China User Group Manager (contract position)
User Group Function Introduction
Division/Department Background/ob<x>jective:
The Global Customer Programs organization has this overall charter:
- To understand customers’ requirements for business success & manage coordination across Oracle to facilitate delivery against these requirements
- To help understand barriers to success & facilitate resolution of issues within Oracle
- To amplify the voice of the customer within Oracle
- To provide on-going feedback to support changes to business process & business practice within Oracle
Oracle is proud of its independent user group community. Worldwide, there are over 800 independent users groups focused on Oracle products and services. The groups enjoy a positive relationship with local Oracle teams. They host meetings and conferences and work to communicate with Oracle on many levels to network, secure speakers for meetings and influence Oracle.
User group members are Oracle’s most active and involved customers. Research indicates that members of user groups are more satisfied and are more inclined to refer customers to purchase Oracle than other customers. It is important that Oracle is aware of all user groups in China.
Job responsibility
As a member of the Oracle Global Customer Programs team, the China User Group Coordinator will be responsible for researching all Oracle user group communities in China and reporting on their status to the team leader. Research indicates there are a few online communities focused on Oracle technology.
The China User Group Coordinator will work closely with the regional User Group Relationship Manager and the Global strategy manager to discover and report on all Oracle user groups in the country and then to outline their functions, focus and membership activities as required by the APAC relationship manager.
The China User Group Coordinator will work cooperatively with the global user group team to involve the China user group community in ongoing programs offered by the Global Customer Programs team and to introduce them to the worldwide community of user groups including the following programs:
• Annual regional user group leader meetings – an opportunity for the leaders to meet with other leaders from the region, share best practices and understand the activities of the regional user groups
• Annual global user group leader meetings at Oracle Headquarters
• Ongoing activities available to the user group community
Specific Job Responsibilities:
Day-to-day reporting to Senior Director, Global Uses Group Strategy, to ensure support for the existing and emerging groups in the assigned region.
• Identify and maintain a single databa<x>se of all industry, product or regional user communities that are in the region.
• Work with the management team to have the China user groups participate in regional and global user group activities. Ensure the developing groups are aware of the established users groups in the region and around the world and explore possibilities of working together.
• Encourage and monitor regional users group online activities and proactively support their work
• Establish realistic growth targets per user group and develop action plans to achieve those targets
• Build and drive key relationships between local user groups with Oracle management
Qualification
The contract candidate is to be a mature, self-starter who is fluent in English and has credibility in working with customers. The contract candidate should have the ability to identify and differentiate various needs of customer groups across the region. The China User Group Coordinator will also be able to influence User Group activities and to report all findings to the local relationship manager.
