职位1：QA Manager

VMware is seeking a manager to lead Continuing Product Development (CPD) QE activities in Beijing, China. This is a highly visible engineering management position to provide continuing product development for vSphere – VMware’s flagship virtualization product, across a wide variety of software and hardware configurations. You will manage a QE team responsible for continuing development effort in multiple areas of vSphere and other VMware products, and in delivering update releases of VMware products.
Responsibilities:
• Work with development to determine QE requirements and test coverage and coverage with input from marketing and customer support
• Work with other QE teams in Beijing, US, and India to ensure comprehensive test coverage and quality assurance of products
• Deliver high quality update releases
• Provide high level technical directions and leadership to the team
• Input to planning timelines for both engineering and quality assurance
• Standardize practices and procedures ba<x>sed on a software development methodology
• Drive implementation and usage of test automation
• Effectively work across multiple functions and geographies
• Manage, coach and motivate team member to ensure a highly productive and efficient team
• Responsible for staffing, budget setting and resource management
Requirements:
• 3+ years in managing a high-performing engineering team
• 7+ years of industrial experience with a significant portion of the experience in QE and QE management
• Must be experienced in software development and QE methodology and software maintenance practices
• Excellent teamwork and leadership skills
• Strong organizational, people management, project management and customer interaction skills
• Must be able to prioritize and handle multiple outstanding tasks
• Strong communication. Fluent in English and Chinese
• Strong domain knowledge in operating systems and OS level testing experience in areas of networking, and/or driver, etc.
• Solid knowledge on x86 architecture as well as Windows and Linux/Unix OSes
• Programming experience & knowledge of automation frameworks
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent
职位2：Senior Storage Development Engineer, VMware R&D Beijing
Job Requirements
The EE R&D Beijing Team is part of VMware global Ecosystems Engineering organization and is responsible for partner collaboration and delivering storage and other infrastructure projects with VMware partners and helping to solve challenges presented in cloud services delivery.
We are seeking storage development engineers with hands-on software skills developing vSphere I/O (storage) stacks and protocols, storage management software, and systems software. As a senior engineer you will have direct exposure to core VMware technology and work closely with a strong engineering team, collaborate and consult with VMware storage partners to jointly develop solutions that enable VMware and its ecosystem of storage infrastructure/solution partners to effectively address challenges and tap into opportunities presented in a Cloud computing environment.
Responsibilities
* As a storage development consultant collaborate with partners towards developing vSphere storage infrastructure/solution partner software and plugins.
* Contribute to design the next generation virtualization hypervisor storage systems that fit in a large scale cloud environment.
* As a hands-on developer, be capable of fully understanding the storage stack and system and implementing and guiding the changes required to improve storage system reliability and availability and maximize storage I/O performance
* Provide high quality documentation of storage solution APIs and devkits to partners for efficient self-enablement
* Collect and generalize valuable engineering requirements from storage solution partners and influence the design decision and implementation of next generation of vSphere storage architecture
* Work on storage efficiency, reliability and availability, and management requirements for cloud storage
Minimum Requirements
* 6+ years of experience in designing and developing system and kernel software
* 4+ years of direct experience in designing and developing storage infrastructure and solution software
* Excellent C programming skills (5+ years)
* Solid working knowledge and hands on experience in UNIX internals, Linux/Windows storage stack, and file system technology
* Extensive hands on experience configuring storage and associated components, resolving complex software defects, including reproducing problems ba<x>sed on written descriptions, applying relevant techniques to isolate root cause, tracing through large source code ba<x>ses, and writing short-term workarounds and permanent solutions
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (fluent in both oral and written English) -- be able to interact well with developers at VMware and global partners
* Solid skills in writing high-quality, well-designed and well-documented code
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills with ability to prioritize and handle multiple outstanding tasks and deliver products timely
* Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science (MS or PhD in CS or CE preferred)
Additional Requirements
* Knowledge on in storage multi-path, fault-tolerance, storage backup, and disaster recovery
* Knowledge SAN and IP storage protocols: FC/FCoE, iSCSI, and NFS
* Experience in large scale and distributed file systems
* Industry experience in system engineering and working with storage solution vendors
该职位是介于VMware内部虚拟化产品研发和VMware合作伙伴（包括软硬件、芯片、服务器厂商）之间的一个角色，通过整合内部资源，提供给合作伙伴VMware的产品、相关API和技术文档，使VMware的产品很好地兼容到对方的平台上，并通过改进和升级促进双方技术发展。
该职位相当于一个研发咨询工程师，一方面要对内部产品熟悉，另一方面要和外部合作伙伴沟通以获得需求和改进意见（大部分是美国partner)，故对英文口语有一定要求，要求能应付技术上的沟通，所以希望申请者具备良好的口语能力。
职位3：Sr. MTS - Databa<x>se Development Engineer
Requirements:
- Bachelor/Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent from a reputable university
- 10+ years of industry experience
- Hands-on experience shipping production software
- Experience at a technology startup a plus
- Very solid design and development experience in distributed systems and at least one of below areas:
databa<x>se, databa<x>se management; cloud computing, cloud management system
- Strong coding skills in Java and modern development frameworks
- Experience with C/C/++ a plus
- Outstanding problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills in both Chinese and English
- Comfortable developing for the Windows and/or Linux environments
此职位是VMware和EMC的合作项目，主要做数据库application的开发，对Java要求较高。同时这个职位的Manager是一个美国人，所以口语必须过关。
