Major Duties:
Assist clients in fulfilling compliance obligations in accordance with PRC taxation laws and regulations, including:
Interview clients’ personnel to identify functions and risks relevant to the engagement objectives.
Prepare individual and corporate tax computations and returns, and handle correspondence with the respective tax authorities (State Administration of Taxation and Local Taxation Bureau);
Provide advice on tax efficiency planning, international mobility, reward and employment related matters, e.g. visa and work permit;
Providing advice on annual statements of accounts (Chinese GAAP, IFRS) including deferred taxes;
Providing advice regarding legal arrangements and tax oriented contractual design.
Analyze the economics of clients’ related party transactions and help clients understand transfer pricing issues and the taxation effects of various business and accounting practices;
Participate in tax audits and provide legal remedies against tax assessments.
Maintain client relationship, through daily communication with clients and responding to clients’ requests and complaints in a timely and effective manner.
Participate in research on PRC tax and related business issues, and assist in the compilation of internal documentation and guidelines; Conduct tax related practices, laws and other case study research, and develop the fundamental working competency and capability documentation or database.
Work in a team to devise solutions to complex transfer pricing issues faced by multinational corporations; design and use advanced spreadsheet models to measure and compare inter-company results.
Attend meetings as requested by tax authorities and prepare relevant records and documents to ensure newly issued regulations / directions are fully understood and complied with.
Depending on the lines of specialization, roles and responsibilities may vary according to industrial traits and client requests. The above is an encompassing description of the general role, and each associate shall undertake other specific duties and tasks as required by line of specialization.
General Requirements:
Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken, additional German skills would be a plus;
Very good interpersonal and communication skills;
Have passion for taxation / accounting as a career and uphold the highest professional ethics.
Able to analyse and synthesise complex information;
Responsible, well organised and reliable;
Able to work under pressure and meet client deadlines;
Eager to learn and think out of the box;
Well versed in Microsoft applications and proficient in Excel.
