Analytical Consultant
This staff member will work as a SAS analytic consultant to support SAS statistical solutions for the R&D Advanced Analytics Lab division.
Duties
• Develop, and assist in development of, statistical modeling solutions using SAS software
• Discuss technical and design issues with U.S. developers for statistical solutions
• Produce quality control reports for data warehouse processes
• Prepare data for analytical modeling. Develop SAS programs to reformat raw data to analysis-ready form required by SAS software. This process may include the following tasks:
o Validate data for quality and consistency
o Identify data anomalies and/or inconsistencies
o Perform data cleansing as necessary
• Assist in writing external and internal documentation
• Build, maintain, stress test, and validate statistical models
• Translate model performance to financial benefit for the business by incorporating knowledge of customer business practices.
• Specify and build advanced statistical solutions for specific industries.
• Modify and update models and approaches based on emerging ideas and methodologies.
• Participates in end-to-end customer analytic needs:
o Identifies data analysis needs
o Processes and explores client data
o Translates business requirements into analytic methods
o Builds analytic models
o Develops analysis reports
• Develops data quality procedures & assists in Quality Assurance efforts for all SSO projects
• Automates analytic processes
• Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Master's degree in Statistics or closely related field with extensive knowledge in the solution of statistics using the SAS system;
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in data mining, statistical modeling, time series with SAS software;
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Excellent communications skills;
• Ability to relate business concepts and user needs to SAS solutions;
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
Preferences:
• Experience using SAS OLAP Server, SAS Business Intelligence Software, and SAS version 9 solutions including SAS Enterprise Miner, or other Statistical Solutions;
• Experience with modeling large volume data;
• Experience in Unix and NT environment;
• Analytical programming;
Experience in one of the following solution areas:
• Customer Relationship Management,
• Database marketing, Market Risk,
• Credit Risk, Fraud or Revenue Optimizati
