Store Opening Manager
Report to Retail Head
Key responsibilities include:
Job SUMMARY AND MISSION
This job contributes to success by leading the entire new store construction process from planning through design and completion. Responsibility for implementation of the leasing contract details those are relevant to construction. This includes the sourcing, proposals, building contracts, supervision of construction sites, managing external providers, and ensuring budget responsibility for stores is set and met within agreed upon targets. Reports to construction manager of new store.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Leads the store design process including planning, managing external architects and service providers, and integration with regional and design team on specification and test fits.
Submits all building and concession applications in compliance with legal requirements and prepares and monitors budgeting and timeline. Grants building contracts and obtains all necessary and official approvals.
Develops all internal reporting process which includes working master schedule, budget plan, building and design presentations, and the supervision and maintenance of the store development database.
Seeks innovative methods on continual basis to reduce store construction costs. This includes eliminating obstacles by providing technical solutions, product tests.
Leads the negotiations with suppliers including completion of building contracts and unit pricing agreements and supervises all construction suppliers, profiles and handling.
Works closely with field real estate partners and store design team to implements and manage process within agreed budget and timeline, ensuring a maximum service level to the stores.
Assists in all other function within store development, as appropriate.
Summary of Experience
Experience in store design systems/processes in retail/restaurant environment ----- 5years
Specific technical experience in construction and design ----- 2 years
Project management and building strong relationships with external suppliers
Experience in all functions within store development preferred
Required knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Technical skills in the design, development and management of construction
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Ability to make presentations to senior leadership, stores and external suppliers
Ability to manage significant budget and compliance requirements
