Job Title: Buyer – Women’s Top – Greater China

JOB PURPOSE & KEY METRICS



Describe the essential intent of the job in a brief statement.



Identify the most critical and measurable results for accomplishing the Job Purpose, including Key Metrics. Purpose:

Assist the Buying Manager to drive business growth and Market Share of the Strategic Category (Women’s Tops) with strong product, competition and consumer analytics. Provides expertise in consumer, customer and competitor intelligence. Briefs market-specific requirements, selects local line from the regional/global line and develop local assortments from the regional/global line. Contributes to development and implementation for local markets and manages local P&L with revenue and margin accountability. Influences key product communication development. Manages retail and DC inventory.



Key Metrics:

• Market Share (overall for category and key buying groups)

• Consumer, Customer and Channel focused product assortments chosen from product line which meet brand and financial targets (Retail price and revenue, Assortment revenue, margins, inventory health)

• Creation of Detailed briefs attuned to customer/consumer segment insights, regional requirements, marketplace knowledge, and competitive data.

• Key City, Channel and Cluster/ Country/ Region market share and Product related brand equity score targets

• Developing and Driving Monthly, Quarterly and Annual OTB and Unit Revenue forecasts for opportunity maximization and inventory management





KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyzes and interprets sales consumer | competitor data:



• Drives strong analytics vs. sales performance and market data and creates actionable insights that inform the brief.

• Interprets and applies consumer segment understanding, customer and competitor intelligence in the brief creation.

• Develops data and insight based market share growth plans

• Identifies New Category opportunities to maximize business potential

• Understands local market to provide targeted consulting and to obtain additional competitive and consumer intelligence in order to better understand and react to the local marketplace.



Contributes to the development of the Annual Operating Plan



Builds assortment plan – volume and profit targets:



• Develops the Local product and price architecture aligned with the Global brand and product architecture

• Creates the category brief with market-specific requirements. Provides the competitive analysis, performance data, marketplace trends and seasonal requirements to inform the regional/global line architecture.

• Creates final range width and depth buy plan by store grade at a SKU level

• Compiles all store grade level plans to create affiliate-level assortment framework

• Creates seasonal brief to include product assortment, suggested pricing strategies, product line volume and profit guidance, margin targets, growth opportunities, and transition plans (Game Plan)



Briefs Hub Merchants on assortment requirements



• Influences global/regional Hub Merchant on market needs based on briefs.

• Rates products and merchandising stories for sales potential



Builds and monitors local assortment:



• Builds local assortment off the regional/global lines that meet consumer and customer needs to drive profitability. Modifies orders as needed to arrive at targeted buying budgets and margin realization, by store grade and overall. Evaluates what is working effectively or not and adapts with the necessary changes. Fosters intra-regional learning and innovation.

• Drives Product imagery scores (brand equity) through the identification of superior and consumer/channel relevant product

• Owns and manages P&L at a revenue margin and brand contribution level. Collaborates with with sales, retail, demand planning, marketing and customer(s) to help insure regional financial targets are achieved.

• Works with accounts to understand productivity of product and ongoing needs

• Monitors demand planning metrics. Consults with affiliates as necessary to resolve potential order and delivery issues.

• Monitors sell-in and sell-thru and provides timely updates and analyses.

• Inventory, open to buy and forecasting responsibilities

Supports account team in driving buying plans for key accounts

People Development:



• Leads and develops buyer merchant team. Ensures high level of employee engagement and achievement through fostering a winning culture anchored in LS&Co. values and winning characteristics.

Drives cross functional accountability:



• Collaborates with cross-functional partners to execute the brand vision with customer/accounts on floor.

Regional Notes:

The role will be based in Shanghai, covering Levi’s other major markets in China, also responsible for HKG and Taiwan

Key Relationships: Develops and fosters key collaborative relationships with the affiliates and with other regional partners including GSO, Design, Finance, and the other Regional/Global Merchants. Reports to Buying Manager

JOB REQUIREMENTS



List required minimum education, years and type of experience and the competencies (knowledge, skills & abilities) required to perform the job.



Include the complexity of decision making and problem solving.



Education: University on (Fashion) Marketing or other related disciplines.

Experience:

At lease 6 years of solid experience in apparel buying and product management in Greater China region.

Full accountability in managing at least a sub-brand / main category
