Retail Operation Manager
Report to: Retail Head
Key responsibilities include:
Purpose: To deliver maximum profitability to retail stores and Factory Outlets in the specific country area in line with country AOP, APD Retail Strategy and Brand equity
Key Metrics:
Sales (Controlled Retail targets)
Units per transaction (UPT)
Average transaction value (ATV)/ Average basket receipt
Traffic (change in traffic vs. last year - total country)
Conversion in-store (total country)
Store productivity
Franchisee Management:
Collaboratively plans and sets targets with franchisee (small individual franchisees) or set targets for each owned & operated store and monitor their delivery in close cooperation with the Retail partner and /or Store manager.
Build and maintain effective relationship with external retail partners to support business objectives through the delivery of agreed operating standards
Excellent Execution in Retail Development:
Deliver retail KPIs (sales and profitability targets) for the channels and individual stores in the area by optimizing assortment, stock and Inventory parameters by store and maximizing sell-out.
Reviews doors against defined ground rules and parameters and determines store grades
Optimize permanently an effective doors portfolio in the area through growing, closing and opening retail doors.
Manage and develop store managers on an ongoing basis.
Build and maintain retail capability within the store based teams through delivering or/and complementing and reinforcing regional learning solutions and execution of follow-up actions.
Build and maintain cross - functional internal relationship in the market and HQ to support delivery of the individual store's and area's targets
Manage the factory outlets in the area, maximizing their profitability whilst protecting Brand equity
Ensure that collection/product knowledge is appropriately cascaded down to the store staff level
Retail Performance:
Implement/ partner in implementation of consistent retail operation processes and company standards in the area of store operation, product/availability, visual merchandising and customer service at store level. Produce and distribute a detailed written report, after each store visit, covering the key agreements, comments and areas of concern with timescales for action.
Execute and follow up to ensure sustained performance.
Use effectively the results of Mystery Shopper, Ray mark data and any other report/assessment to improve store performance through building and executing improvement action plan
Ensure that each store has appropriate mix of accessories supporting sell-out
Experience:
5+ years of significant experience in Retailing operations management; College degree or above
Functional Competencies:
Retailing skills; Understanding of apparel retail business, solid knowledge of retail math
Customer Service Orientation
Understanding of Customer Business Development, Category Management concept and key components
Knowledge of store planning and implementation practices
Solid understanding of products and competitive environment
Management of franchisee relations
Understanding of Marketing and Brand management
Basic knowledge of POS systems
Individual Requirements:
Retail Operations experience
Leadership skills
Problem identification and solving skills/analytical skills
High impact communication and influencing skills
Negotiation skills
Financial acumen & commercial sense
Project management skills; ability to balance several simultaneous projects leading to a common endpoint
Organization and people development and management skills; coaching and facilitation skills
