Job Description
Title: AP Product Development Director
Report Line: Manufacturing VP
Direct Subordinate: 6
This position is responsible for the company China and AP new product development to ensure the successful launch with the support of the company, through Transfer of Technology (TOT), Stability, Contract Vendor product development interface, and material local source evaluation. And it is also responsible for solving the deviations which may happen during routine processing
Responsibility:
1. Set up the department’s strategy and objective to align with that of the company.
2. Leads and oversees China’s new product development technical activities with AP Contract Vendors
3. Be responsible for leading new product Transfer of Technology (TOT) from the product department to in-house manufacturing, contract manufacturing and other AP facilities. Ensure that the developed manufacturing process is suitable to local equipment and utilities. And approve local working process.
4. Be responsible for leading stability II, III & IV study in the company lab to support China and other AP projects, to ensure the product is stable in expected shelf life. Lead team to initiate the stability test when new formula, new making process or major changes in the process or primary components, and approve the evaluations.
5. Be responsible for technical evaluation and approval on local second material source, through material local industrial analysis, processing review, material quality verification and lab batch.
6. Be responsible for deviation handling and problem solving during routine processing. Approve rework procedures if have.
7. Be responsible for Regulatory and medical affairs.
8. Be involved in new contract manufacturer qualification from technical points of view, to evaluate its facility, equipment and control method is suitable and acceptable according to process requirement.
9. Provide professional support to Marketing and sales force with technical knowledge.
10. Serve as primary technical liaison and source of product technical knowledge for China Marketing and Operations, as well as the technical link between AP Contract Vendors/the company Operations and Corporate technical staff.
11. Identifies and elevates new product technologies that might have potential for use in future the company products, both in China and globally.
12. Legacy the company culture. Coach and motivate team members. Be responsible for team building and people developing.
Requirement:
Education:
Bachelor's degree or above, major in Chemical Engineering or related
Experience:
-Minimum 8 years related R&D working experience in Cosmetics Processing or Chemical fields.
-Minimum 3 years management experience
