Job Description:
R&D Team Manager in the Application Life Cycle (formerly Quality Center) - Applications group
Products Descriptions:
HP Application Life Cycle Management, formally Quality Center software, is industry-leading, global quality management software. It lets organizations manage the quality process for delivering high-quality applications efficiently and effectively.
HP Quality Center offers a single, web-based application that supports all essential aspects of quality management. It provides a consistent, repeatable process for gathering requirements, planning and scheduling tests, analyzing results and managing defects and issues. This software enables your organization to digitize specific quality processes and procedures within the larger application lifecycle. It also supports high levels of communication and collaboration among IT teams.
Responsibilities:
· Owning Applications off-shore team end-to-end, managing 3-4 tech leads and 10 software developers.
· Lead designing & developing of functional and technical capabilities within the products, while making key design decisions
· Providing high level vision to the team according to current and forward view
· Facilitating cooperation with local and on-shore teams (working closely with Applications group managers), as well as with external teams such as QA and technical publications, while keeping high visibility and effective communication
· Providing ongoing input, and own off-shore project planning activity
· Setting high execution standards, while adhering to project goals and insuring high quality
· Recruiting, coaching, and developing the people in the team
· Providing technical knowledge and guidance to the team, according to identified needs
Qualifications
Bachelor of Computer Science / Computer Engineering
Master degree in a relevant subject - strong advantage
Proven excellence in previous position or graduation with honor.
Minimum 7 years of overall experience as part of meaningful software development lifecycle
Significant experience leading large software team(s) within global organization(s)
Experienced with information systems designs and development
Strong leadership skills. Ability to motivate and develop people.
High organized, excellent quality & timely deliveries discipline
Excellent English communication capabilities (verbal and writing)
Strong background in JAVA and .NET
OOP/OOD understanding and proven practice. Strong architecture-awareness (application model and/or implementation tiers)
Worked directly with American or European customers.
Ability and will to influence - setting an agenda and striving to reach it. Results orientation.
