Title: Technical Service Specialist
Location: Shanghai
JOB DESCRIPTION
Key Job Responsibilities
1) Provide efficient technical service to Home & Personal Care customers in Greater China and Asia Pacific region in cooperation with Sales on identified business needs and in agreement with local sales/marketing leadership.
2) Follow up on customer complaints and provide trouble shootings in a fast, efficient, and professional manner to resolve customer’s problem.
3) Formulation / Solution development using scientific method to meet customers’ requirements.
4) Support new products promotion in Asia Pacific region by providing technical presentations and application / formulation guidelines.
5) Conduct technical presentations at customer sites and professional conferences and trade shows, and provide technical training to marketing and commercial teams and distributors.
6) Develop new customers and new applications, and coordinate closely with sales and marketing teams to achieve the financial target, establish long term customer relationship to ensure a profitable and sustainable business growth.
7) Leads or actively participates in project discussions with global resources in different functions including R&D, marketing, sales, supply chain, etc.
 Able to manage multiple projects scientifically and effectively.
9) Prepare and keep updated professional documentation of all technical projects and related activities.
10) Comply to EH&S policy and be responsible for the cleanness and safety of laboratories and workshop areas;
Key Requirements
• Master or Ph.D. in Polymer / Material Science, Chemistry, and related majors.
• At least 5 years of significant professional experience including product development and technical support in personal care or home care markets.
• Formulation development skills with deeper understanding on technology know-how.
• Familiar with the chemistry of water soluble polymers, acrylic polymers, surfactants, etc., and their application in personal care and home care products.
• Excellent business sense and communication skill.
• Excellent project management skill.
• Goal-oriented, self motivated, proactive, fast learning and passion for techniques.
• Able to work in a team as well as independently.
• Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Multicultural background or experience desired.
• This position will be based in Shanghai, China and will require a minimum of 30% travel, typically to Home & Personal Care customers located in Greater China including some international travel.
