Learning & Development Manager







Working location: Puxi Downdown



Subordinates: 3







objective / Purpose of the Department



To consistently and transparently attract, develop and retain quality people who provide outstanding and distinctive service and customer care.







objective / Purpose of the Job



Formulates and implements learning & development policies in line with the BU HR strategy and the Divisional Learning & Development (programme) guidelines, implements divisional training programmes and manages the development and implementation of local learning & development programmes to ensure everyone is equipped for current and future challenges.







Key Activities / Accountabilities



To provide input into the Business Unit People & Organisation Development (P&OD) strategy and to formulate the annual training plan in line with divisional, business and individual requirements to ensure all staff is equipped for current and future challenges.







Learning & Development management & deployment



• Research, define and manage the process for implementation of company University to support the generic core curriculum and other L&D programs, host e-learning and provide employee self service, including learning history.



• Provide expertise in the areas of learning needs assessment, learning/competency alignment, design, delivery and evaluation to achieve desired business outcomes.



• Ensure training data is gathered to provide up to date training records and to identify potential improvements of training and development activities.



• Regularly evaluate the status of the annual training plan and the effectiveness of training & development programmes, processes and policies.



• Select and manage the performance of external suppliers to ensure qualitative training programmes are provided at an optimal cost.







Advising & Consulting



• Build up expertise in L&D team to create a centre of excellence on key competencies such as consultancy, facilitation and coaching.



• Communicate to all management and employees the available learning & development programmes in line with their individual needs (personal development plans).







Successor & Talent Management



• Assist in setting up development frameworks especially for talent pipeline and leadership.



• Responsible for talent development programs implementation, including SHINE, AMT and MT program.







People management (in relation to own team)



To lead, motivate and empower the staff through effective & open communication, excellent leadership, regular performance feedback and teambuilding in order to maximise customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction and team productivity.







Networking and Project work



• Implementation and follow up Global Engagement Survey in North Asia.



• Performance management system.



• Country coordinator in North Asia.



• Responsible for Iip project.







CSR and Health & Safety



• Comply with the company's corporate social responsibility, health, safety and environmental standards and responsibilities as identified within management systems and directly support line management in effectively implementing these management systems.







Essential Educational and / or Training Qualifications & Certificates



• University/graduate level, preferably in an HR related area



• Or proven relevant work experience ( see below)



• 6 years above experience in a training and development function



• Thorough understanding of learning/educational concepts, methods & approaches such as learning strategies, needs analysis, learning interventions, training material design and delivery



• Knowledge of the business levers, processes and structures (to check what this means)



• Experience in people management



• Good training development & facilitation skills



• Excellent verbal and written English skills
