Role Description:
The RTNS project supports the XXXXXXXXXXXX Post Trade Services business by providing a trade notification and affirmation system. This TR hosted system makes use of Next Generation Transactions (NGTx) technology and infrastructure and distributes trade notifications from remotely connected Publishers to Receivers with an optional affirmation workflow. Publishers and Receivers may choose from a growing number of protocols and connection types and significant numbers are expected to use the platform FIX gateway.
The RTNS Development Manager is responsible for the day to day running of the development teams, working closely with Project Managers, Development Team Leads and QA both in Beijing and Nottingham development centres.
Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
• Management of several small (4-5 person) development teams.
• Line management of development team leaders
• Development and supervision of the development process, working closely with Nottingham to do so.
• Supervision of the production of estimates.
• Overview and ownership that scheduling of tasks and allocation of work is being carried out effectively.
• Supervision of work that's carried out by the teams (quality and process).
• Monitoring of progress and reporting of same to Project Manager and senior management both in Beijing and Nottingham.
• Identifying and pursuing improvements to the software development process.
• Ensuring that Configuration Management processes and procedures are sufficient and adhered to.
Qualifications
Education:
Educated to degree level or evidence of an equivalent level of technical competence.
Required Skills (Must have), Necessary industry Experience & associated number of years of experience:
• Excellent academic record.
• Excellent managerial skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• Strong track record in the delivery of software based solutions.
• Strong understanding of software systems, development issues, methodologies, and processes within a professional software development practice.
• Strong technical/development background with 5-8 years relevant experience including at least 2 years management experience
Desired Skills (Nice to have in addition to the Required Skills), Necessary industry Experience & associated number of years of experience:
• Educated to degree level or evidence of an equivalent level of technical competence.
• Good diplomacy skills.
• Strong track record of promoting improvement within their sphere of influence.
• An understanding of the financial markets and the requirements of participants within those markets.
• An understanding of post trade confirmation systems.
• An understanding of agile development methodolodies
• An understanding of the NGTx technology and architecture
