KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:
u To manage China global sourcing team and the suppliers to meet MAHLE worldwide business need.
u To source competitive, quality components from China that meet MAHLE worldwide standards.
u Search and develop new World Class suppliers in China.
u Working closely with MAHLE worldwide organizations; establish and maintain cross-functional linkage with MAHLE plants worldwide to assure effective sharing of supply base information and smooth launch of new products.
u Support development of sourcing strategy through regular communications both written and telephones with global product and purchasing teams.
u Ensure suppliers have appropriate quality systems, audit effectiveness, supplier source release, drive corrective action plans and supplier process improvement.
u Lead and assist suppliers in APQP process.
u Organize supplier visits and carry out benchmarking studies.
u Analysis market price trends.
u Ensure full commitment and support for training, communication, health and safety, housekeeping and personal discipline.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
u Minimum 8 years of purchasing experience, at least 5 years in automotive industry.
u Deep understanding and knowledge of Chinese markets and supplier base in automotive industry
u Knowledge of international standards and working practices.
u Excellent skills of operating computer, in MS Office.
u An excellent networker & communicator, organized with a positive attitude.
u Able to lead the team under pressure.
u Confidence to deal with all levels of management internally and overseas.
u Action oriented with proven track record of achieving business goals
u Team player and strong sense of responsibility skill, proficiency in written and spoken English.
u Good cost analysis, negotiation and communication skills.
u Experience in automotive product development process; Knowledge of TS16949 quality system.
u Good knowledge of global business terms and logistics.
u Extensive experience in project management and new product launch management.
u The ability to develop capable suppliers that have export potential, good quality, technical and cost advantage.
u Frequent traveling is required.
EADUCATION REQIREMENTS:
u Strong technical background; Business or engineering degrees preferred.
