This position will be responsible for allocating staff to projects and will work with the Development Manager/ Quality Manager to appraise staff during the assignment. The successful candidates will report to Lead of Resources Development Manager. The position will be base in Beijing.
Role and Responsibilities
Liaise with Human Resources to develop training plans for staff in your group
Determine project assignments for staff considering both the business goals of the Company and the skills development goals of individuals
Engage the local HR Talent Acquisition function to ensure strategic recruitment takes place
Recruit staffs according to the development centre requirement
Maintain defined levels of staff utilization and participate in the project process at the strategic program level to maintain your exposure to the business
Ensure that Thomson Reuters technical and business knowledge management needs are met
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
8 years of relevant experience as Project Management in an IT environment
3 – 5 years of People Management Development experience
Demonstrate general management skills e.g. succession management, mentoring and coaching.
Broad technical understanding preferably in a development environment
The ability to think outside the box to ensure staff are fully utilized e.g., seconding staff to other groups/projects both locally and globally
The ability to manage risks and dependencies that impact resources availability
The ability to work with people of different levels and with varying talents and to be able to motivate and develop them
Patient and understanding when dealing with staffing issues
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Good written and spoken English
