RESPONSIBILITIES and AUTHORITIES
• To help define the derived software requirements ba<x>sed on the high level requirements from Product Management, as well as other S&T organizations. Facilitate to establish the roadmap for the software components.
• Break down the high-level requirements into specific technical specifications ba<x>sed on relevant industry standards, and network deployment scenarios ba<x>sed on total solutions.
• To participate in the architectural design of the software components, in order to implement the requirements. To write and help review high level design documents
• To manage the necessary technical communication with peer organizations to fulfill the requirements for the projects
• To support the System Design Manager so that Ways of Working & processes are kept up to date for an efficient R&D operation.
• Mentor junior team members and drive competence areas assigned
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB
• Minimum 5 years experience in Telecom networking areas; e.g. Carrier Ethernet, Microwave, Optical or IP Routing, with proven industry experience
• Excellent knowledge of Communication systems and their design
• Good experience with classic design flows; requirements->high level design->detailed design. Ability in iterative and agile design techniques. Experience in Information Modeling and the usage of Unified Modeling Language (UML) is preferred.
• Good interpersonal skills, good culture awareness and the ability to mentor junior designers. Strong communication skills and presentation skills.
• Graduate degree or higher, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent experience. Fluent in English speaking and writing
