Taiwan solar cell makers assessing impacts from LDK financial woes

Some Taiwan-based solar cell makers are assessing the possible impacts from LDK Solar's financial woes on their long-term supply contracts signed with the China-based solar wafer supplier, according to industry sources.
Gintech Energy, Neo Solar Power and Solartech Energy are some of the Taiwan-based solar cell makers who have each made considerable prepayments to LDK upon signing supply contracts, the sources said.
LDK last week disclosed to the US Securities and Exchange Commission that it may not be able to remain as a going concern if it fails to improve its liquidity situation. It is seeking to issue 16.52 million ADSs (American depositary shares) priced at US$7 per unit
