GENERAL SUMMARY
Summary: The Senior Solutions Engineer (SAP with Oracle experience) is a member of the Global Solutions Center’s staff (based in Shanghai) who works with a cross functional team in order to design, build, validate, and document repeatable, proven SAP solutions for the field sales organization, partners and customers. In addition, the Senior Solutions Engineer also designs and performs pre-sales proof-of-concept tests, speaks at customer seminars / engagements, and presents product/solution demonstrations
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide leadership for technical solutions, white papers, presentations, demonstrations, trade show participation, field sales and customer consulting, and customer briefing workshops
Design and build solutions around SAP utilizing EMC and 3rd party hardware and software to solve customer business challenges in their SAP environments
Design and execute functional and performance tests, analyze and document these results as an integral part of solution deliverables
Development of appropriate documentation to support EMC Proven Solutions
Evangelize Proven Solutions with EMC field personnel and customers
Support testing of beta releases, patches, hotfixes and upgrades leveraged in the SAP infrastructure
Research future use cases, new software and technologies and collaborate on the SAP Solutions Roadmap creation
Support lab equipment forecasting, installations and rotations
Attend regular meetings and provide updates to management
Support customer demonstrations, round-table discussions and webcasts
Architect, build and lead proof-of-concept tests to a successful conclusion
SKILLS
Expertise in UNIX, LINUX and/or Windows Operating System
Extensive experience in installing, upgrading and maintenance of SAP products
Extensive working knowledge of database administration in Oracle. MS SQL, DB2 UDB experience would be an added advantage.
Excellent English communication skills including both verbal and written
Working knowledge of EMC products and solutions; In-depth knowledge of EMC hardware and software a strong plus
Expert knowledge of SAP internals and communications between SAP applications; SAP application module experience is a plus
Good experience and in-depth understanding of SAP cloning and backup/recovery solutions
J2EE experience is a plus
Unix Shell/Perl scripting is a plus
Ability to work as member of a global team is essential
Ability to handle multiple projects of moderate complexity simultaneously
Shows initiative and ability to lead projects
Education Required:
Bachelors (Tech) or equivalent
