mpeg-2 is for professional only. especially the full stream (including the transport stream) and it was developed for military use only later caught up by professional TV stations, while it still is a military app spec.
the market in china for this in the commercial sector for transport stream is almost done and over.
mpeg-4 is good for its web app, but the video quality is not good. it only suits the internet infrastructure because of low bandwidth demand at low video quality
i am not very up date on mpeg-7, but that was supposed to be the direction as for more integrated data formats.
h.264 is really for low app like conference, i am not sure how long would this be around...
as for our math optimization model, i am still trying to determine what models to cover what, and the relationship between the master and the slave models. the complex of variables are amazing. but i now have the russian math engineer on my team to work with me. it's going to be a long shot...! thanks for your tips, they helped me big time!
