given the population and the way it is distributed in the nation
especially the difference between regional economies, i wanna
suggest that we have a very long time to come before chinese "cheap labor" becomes yesterday like smaller scale economies like first Japan than Taiwan and S. Korea.
becuase of the steps of the regional economies from coast line inward west bound, there is always an inudstrialization cause labor hungry to observ the jobless prob that attract the western side of the country going east bound. it is a great balance and it will go on for quite a while until the money going east bound (for higher return at higher risks)
fill up the gap betweent he west and east side of the country.
gee, how long would that take?!
in the meantime, China has been lack of natural resources since day one. it was only because our productivity was never up to the point where it needed to be so we did not realize that. Even when i was in elementary school, many elders were telling me Mao was absolutely wrong when he boasted the china has a large terriory with vast reources...
so we will rely on import raw materials as japan and do, as long as our cheap labor source last there and still the economic equation makes sence for us to keep doing that and yet coming out ahead, until we have develop a strong strcture of such manufacturing scale economies
because of lack of natrial reources, swiss developed watch industry, because of lack of resources, germany has a big industry building mana made materials utilizing/resuing waste materials
so, i am not to concerned about "lao cha"'s concern.
