1. Engineering Management Positions (Director/senior manager/manager)
We are hiring engineering managers to manage and lead our engineering teams that are made up of talented engineers. Vacancies are open for all levels from director, senior manager to manager. The engineering teams include research, development, testing and quality assurance.
Requirements:
-Plentiful industry experience in software engineering. Profound background in computer science, computer engineering and related domains. Familiar with Internet.
-Solid leadership skills. Strong ability to motivate and coordinate team members and peer groups. Strong communication and people skills.
-Entrepreneurial driver and catalyst in engineering projects and events. Take initiatives to execute, evaluate and improve management processes.
-Passionate, self-motivated, team player, start-up mentality, result oriented.
-Establish credibility with smart engineers quickly.
-5+ years relevant engineering management experiences.
-MS/PhD CS preferred.
2. Software Architect
Software architect is a technology leader. He/She will make decisions on technology selections, architect large-scale software systems, design key algorithms and function as mentor for senior engineers in software design and implementation.
Requirements:
- Profound background in computer science and computer engineering. Deep knowledge in search engine, information retrieval, distributed computing, high performance computing, data mining, natural language processing.
- Have 8+ years industry experience in large-scale software system architecting, design and implementation in Unix, Linux operating system.
- Passionate about technology, self-motivated, team player, start-up mentality, result oriented.
- Strong communication capabilities.
-Experience in search engine is a big plus.
- BS/MSC/PhD in CS/CSE/EE or equivalent.
3. Network System Architect
Baidu is looking for a network system architect, whose responsibilities include:
1. Architect, design, implement, monitor, maintain and operate a large scale computer network with state-of-the-art hardware and software;
2. Make decisions on network equipments and other facilities selection;
3. Design IDC infrastructure and distributed computing architectures.
A qualified candidate is expected with following experience and skills:
1. A minimum of 3 years experience as a network architect, facilities manager or chief engineer at a large internet data center facility (ideally with more than 10,000 computers in its network);
2. Solid understanding of LAN, WAN technologies and experience of implementation/operation;
3. Solid understanding of network infrastructure on TCP/IP Protocols and Layer 2-4 switching concepts;
4. Solid experience in performance tuning, kernel customization, cluster computing in Unix/Linux environment;
5. Experience with IDC design and implementation.
6. BS/MSC/PhD in CS/CSE/EE or equivalent.
4. Senior Software Engineer
Senior software engineer will design and implement a computer system. He/She will lead concept design, detailed design and key modules implementation. He/She will study new algorithms and select appropriate one to solve problems effectively and efficiently.
Requirements:
- Strong background in computer science and computer engineering. Familiar with web search, information retrieval, distributed computing, high performance computing, data mining, database design and computer networks.
- Extensive experience in software design and implementation. Working knowledge in algorithm design and performance tuning.
- 4+ years industry experience. Excellence in C/C++ programming, network programming, multi-threaded programming in Unix/Linux environment.
- Passionate about technology, self-motivated, team player, start-up mentality, result oriented.
- Strong communication capabilities.
--BS/MSC in CS/CSE/EE or equivalent.
5. Chief/Senior Scientist
This person will be in charge of conducting researches in search engine related fields, innovating world-class technologies, building prototype systems to prove concepts, designing and experimenting with new algorithms.
Requirements:
- Strong research abilities in algorithms design and performance tuning.
- Track record research in related fields such as web search, information retrieval, information extraction, distributed computing, high performance computing, data mining, NLP, and computer networks.
- Highly creative, quick learner, analytical thinking, self-motivated, team player, start-up mentality, result oriented.
- MSC/PhD in CS/CSE/EE or equivalent (PhD is a plus).
