Main Functions and Responsibilities
• Follow up with the project execution approach and strategy
• Liaison with local authorities during the entire planning and construction phase in order to obtain all necessary construction and operating permits as well as tax exemptions for imported equipment.
• Participate in the negotiations for technical terms and conditions with engineering contractors as well as other sub-contractors (e.g. CDI or consultants)
• Interface with local design institutes, contractors and suppliers.
• Follow up on the specification, fabrication (where applicable) and timely delivery of locally sourced equipment and material.
• Participate in quality and quantity surveys.
• Liaison with EPCM Contractor to manage the construction site in terms of safety, quality, and progress.
• Assist supervisor to monitor the budgets and time schedules.
• Cooperate with EPCM contractor to supports operations team in obtaining production and operation approvals.
• Assist supervisor to support all Merck Chemical manufacturing plants and labs in China Mainland on engineering and small CAPEX projects.
• Occupy a responsible position within the plant operations team
Qualification:
• University Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
• 8 +years working experience in engineering functions within the Chemical Industry, but at least 2 years experience in technical investment projects;experience in Clean Room design or HVAC technologies will be a big advantage
• Chinese national
• Good English communication skills both in speech and writing
• Team player with good communication skill & high potential for development
