He is trying to share his experience and there is truth in his observation. He does not make any comments on culture. Actually, Hongkong and Mainland share the same culture. There maybe some differience because it is Mainland that trashed Chinese culture a couple of times in history. I believe there are a lot of worse things in comparison to HongKong the author hasn't mentioned in his observation. "Bad-mouthing" is not quite approperiate here. The charge of "it is very dangerous to forget who you are and where you are from. superficiality is NOT cool at all." is even more laughable. That is the tone our press has been using for years. I have been to Hongkong many times and share much experience of the author. HongKong people certainly have a lot things to be proud of and it is part of China now. Then why the hell are you getting so sentimental and so quickly pointing your fingers at someone who is trying to share? Sorry, you comment does not make any sense to me at all and I don't find any logic behind your charge.
