My husband tried several times starting up business during the internet go-go era, so he did quite some research on the subject. Since obviously none of his adventure has really paid off, take it with a grain of salt. He actually walked away from a CTO position as he did not think his contribution was appropriately valued at the time. And more significant time commitment would be required if he stayed on.
