Denmark grants aid to China for wind power generation

The Danish government is to grant the Chinese government six million Euros in aid for the development of wind power in northeast China.
Under an agreement signed by Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce Yi Xiaozhun and Danish Ambassador to China Laurids Mikaelsen, the aid will finance wind power generation projects in Heilongjiang, Liaoning and Jilin Provinces.
With a wind power generation capacity of 3,122 megawatts, Denmark leads the world in manufacturing wind-driven generators, evaluating resources and producing pneumatic conveyors.
The project to be completed in four years is aimed at improving China's capability of wind power generation and to facilitate bilateral exchanges of wind power technologies, according to sources with the Ministry of Commerce.
To ease China's energy shortage, the State Development and Reform Commission mapped out a plan to spur investment and technological innovation in wind power earlier this year.
Under the plan, China's wind power capacity is expected to hit 20 million kilowatts by 2020. Last year, the figure stood at 1.266 million kilowatts.
